Sentosa lies just half a kilometre away from the southern coast of the main island of Singapore. The name, "Sentosa" translates to peace and tranquility in Malay.
It has been a popular destination since my primary school days and I think this is an excellent venue for people who adore outdoor activities. Sentosa has a few beaches (where you can reach the Southernmost point of continental Asia), parks, the underwater world which fascinated me when I was a child and the Universal Studios which was opened not too long ago.
W loves Sentosa so much so that he always requested to go back there when he can afford the time to do so whenever we are in Singapore.
For any foreigners who are interested to explore the whole of Sentosa, you would need to dedicate at least 2 full days as Universal Studios itself would need the whole day.

[How to get there]
- From Harbourfront Station (North East Line): Take the Sentosa Express from VivoCity Level 3, Lobby L to the "Beach Station".
- On Sentosa island, take the BLUE Line bus or the Palawan-Tanjong Beach Tram.
