Automne 2012 #8

I love seafood and calamari is one of them. This is a dish that I will always order in a Korean restaurant but it is so easy to do it yourself at home too. Needless to say, I cook this pretty often =)

Ohjinguh bokkeum!! - Cooked this a couple of weeks back.

Today, I decided to concoct the sauce for around 10 portions and store them in a glass jar so that I can avoid the hassle of taking out bottles of sauces every time I need it (since it is on a frequent basis).
Yes, I think I am quite confident to say that I have a very well-stocked "asian supermarket" at home. Hahahaha! *Shrugs* One's tastebuds will always goes back to its roots.

Automne 2012 #1

Taking a break from our Rome trip, I was invited to have dinner at the best Spanish Tapas restaurant in Paris tonight! I saw my fav calamars!!

Sangria de la Casa
This is a wine punch typical of Spain, Portugal, México, and Argentina. It normally consists of wine, chopped fruit, a sweetener, and a small amount of added brandy. In the case of fruits, they are chopped or sliced such as orange, lemon, lime, apple, peach, melon, berries, pineapple, grape, kiwi and mango. A sweetener such as honey, sugar, simple syrup, orange juice is added. Instead of brandy, other liquids such as Seltzer, Sprite or 7 Up may be added.

Very good ambience with Spanish music in the background with cute Spanish waiters.

With my fav J!

We ordered both the hot and cold tapas assorted plates, just to try a bit of everything. This is the hot tapas plate.

The cold tapas plate. I prefer the hot one, maybe due to the cold temperatures too and it was raining heavily when we were there.

My greedy face.

Crème catalane de la casa - Spanish version of crème brulée to end the meal on a sweet note.

I want to go back to try their assorted Spanish ham and cheese plates!! Since we really like this place, it would be pretty soon!! =D

Printemps 2012 #23

There is no surprise that I like going to supermarkets, is there?

This granola pack from M&S is the only one among all their different varieties that contains no dried fruits. I hate dried fruits, I only like to eat my fruits fresh, period.

I was trying to see whether I can see the difference between pumpkin, sunflower and golden linseeds.

What do they mean by "This product may contain stones"? Are they referring to the kind of stones I'm thinking about or there are actually some kind of edible stones?!!

They taste so good with yoghurt.

I should take pics of the many different ways one can eat their yoghurt. =)

Printemps 2012 #19

We are kind of back to late-winter, early-spring temperatures. In fact, it totally felt like winter this morning when I stepped out of the apartment. I got my winter coat out again this week. =(

Lunch today at the Virgin store café with my colleagues.

The bun beside the stack of cut bread was really nice!! I ate 2.5 of it all by myself with butter!!

Hashbrowns hamburger (hashbrowns instead of bread, totally sinful, but nice!!) , it tasted really good and comforting during cold weather!

Printemps 2012 #10

This is 5-mins walk away from my office.

I saw this today - First thought that flashed through my head, "Hello Kitty imprinted macarons?"

Inside.

I want this box the next time.

My bag of La Durée.

La Durée X Hello Kitty - Can you see Hello Kitty eating macarons? LoL.

Love the colours (from anti-clockwise) - Chocolate (of course), orange-blossom, blackcurrant, rose petal, raspberry (x 2), praliné, blackcurrant.

The other box. I collect La Durée boxes. =D

From L-R: raspberry, cherry blossom (x2), red fruits, caramel, raspberry violet (another version of raspberry)

Blackcurrant and raspberries are the best among all.

I still think Pierre Herme's macarons are better. If not for the love of the boxes, I won't go to La Durée.
